Manouche quartet with violin

The violin is certainly the preferred instrument in combination with the "Manouche" trio, as taught by the great recordings of the guitarist Django Reinhardt and the violinist Stephan Grappelli. The repertoire includes the vast number of gypsy songs of the years 30-40 and 50 as well as the classics of the swing and bebop era. The result is a more aggressive and incisive sound than the combination with the clarinet.
